Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a 32-year-old journalist living in Brisbane, Australia. As a proud feminist, I take special interest in writing articles that are empowering for women and help break through society's often outdated view of their role in the world. Outside of work my hobbies include drinking wine, drinking wine and drinking wine.
How long have you been wearing wigs or hairpieces?
I started wearing my first topper about three months ago. My hair has always been thin and fine, but over the past three years I have experienced diffuse thinning and could no longer hide it. Jon Renau's human hair EasiPart has returned my locks to their former glory. I was nervous about taking the step of wearing alternative hair because there is a lot of stigma around it. But wearing a topper has helped where medicine couldn't. I am no longer consumed by my hair thinning and have renewed confidence. I feel inspired to help others like me and change perceptions around "fake hair". To me it is just an accessory and if more women saw it this way they would be less hesitant to dive in and embrace it.
What advice would you give to a new alternative hair wearer?
Customization and styling! If you can't find a hair piece that matches your look - get it coloured. A few touches will transform your piece into an undetectable masterpiece. And a good blow-dry will help your topper blend so much better with your own. Also, don't be ashamed. Wearing alternative hair is fun and basically a dream come true - choosing the hair you always wish you had. If you can, be open about your experience. Every woman who shares their journey is helping to bust the stigma around it.
What do you love about our brand?
Quality, customer service and education. The Jon Renau brand nails all three. But the brand needs a lot more presence in Australia. It was a while into my research that I discovered it - and a lot of women here don't even know toppers are an option. Just through my social media posts I've had so many Aussie babes reach out to me wanting to know more.
