Wavy Wigs Styling
Posted by JR on May 11th 2020
Wavy synthetic wigs are amazing for someone who wants a great style without a lot of maintenance. Unlike a human hair wig, which would need to be heat styled, synthetic wigs have their curl pattern locked in. Even after washing your wig, those gorgeous waves will still be there!
That being said, wavy wigs still need some basic care and styling to look their best. Keep reading to learn how to keep those curls looking as fresh as the first day you wore them!
CARE
How to Wash & Dry
1. Use your wide tooth comb to gently remove all tangles before washing/when the hair is still dry
2. Wash with Fiber Love Shampoo with cool running water and rinse
3. Pat your wig with a towel to absorb excess moisture
4. Detangle again with your wide tooth comb
5. Spray with Fiber Love Conditioning Spray, avoiding the base materials
6. Place your wig on a plastic wig stand
7. Use your fingers to reform the curls by gently twisting the strands around your finger
8. Wrap the hair in the netting that comes with the wig to support the curls and keep them close to the base of the wig. This will prevent them from “falling” or “loosening”
9. Leave your wig to air dry
Proper Storage
1. After your wig has dried, spray with HD Smooth Detangler and comb through.
2. Then spray with Fiber Love Holding Spray to help the curls stay in place.
3. We recommend storing your wig in its box with the net around the curls. This will help keep the curls intact, whereas storing it on a block head or wig stand will cause the curls to fall over time due to gravity.
STYLING
If you want a smoother look:
Gently comb through the wig and then use a paddle brush to create soft waves. Use HD Smooth Detangler to protect the fiber.
If you want a textured look:
Define the curls with Piece Out Contour Fiber Crème. Work the crème into your hands before applying; this melts the product a little and ensures it will be evenly distributed throughout the hair.
Start on the ends of the hair and work your way up, being careful not to over-saturate the roots.
Gently scrunch the hair from ends to the mid-lengths to give it a sassy texture.
If you want more volume:
Gently comb through the hair with your wide tooth comb and spray Pick Me Up Dry Shampoo at the base as well as throughout the ends to create volume and texture throughout the style.
