Synthetic Wig Care

Products Needed:

.

HOW-TO STEPS:

  • Detangling Daily:
    • We recommend combing your synthetic hairpieces daily with a Wide Tooth Comb and HD Smooth Detangler to avoid tangling. This is especially important for mid-length and long styles and when wearing turtlenecks and scarves, which cause friction-frizz.
    • Application: Hold your HD Smooth Detangler 6-8" away from hair and apply 3-5 pumps, focused on the mid-length to ends. Gently comb through using your wide tooth comb. We recommend keeping a travel size of each in your purse!

.

.

  • Steam Away:
    • Use a steamer to help smooth "friction frizz” and rejuvenate your favorite synthetic winter style. NOTE: Steaming will permanently change the shape of the fiber until it’s steamed.
    • Application: Hold steam 2-3” away from your hairpiece to avoid damage and lightly steam through the strands. All fiber must cool/dry completely to hold the desired shape. Learn more by watching this demo with our Education Ambassador, Jo! Watch Video.

Heat Defiant Wig Care

Products Needed:

.

HOW-TO STEPS:

  • Detangling Daily:
    • As detailed above, apply HD Smooth Detangler and comb through gently with a wide tooth comb to remove tangles that build up throughout the day from your sweaters and coats.
    • Application: Hold your HD Smooth Detangler 6-8" away from hair and apply 3-5 pumps, focused on the mid-length to ends, before combing through.
  • Heat is Key:
    • Heat defiant synthetic fiber doesn't just love heat, it needs it! You must apply heat to your HD synthetic hairpiece 1x week to avoid frizzing and tangling. Remember, once you lock in your HD style with heat, the style will remain until heat is applied again.
    • Application: Set your hot tool on a low heat setting of 270-280 degrees Fahrenheit (132-137 degrees Celsius). For curling, use the three C’s method (Curl, Clip, Cool) for curl longevity.
  • Heat Protection:
    • Prior to using any hot tools, protect the fibers with Heat Treat Thermal Spray.
    • Application: Spray 1-2 pumps of Heat Treat Thermal Spray on each section of hair prior to applying your heat tool.

HOW-TO STEPS:

  • Conditioning:
    • This creamy hydrating conditioner is a much-needed friend during the dry winter months. Rich in vitamins, antioxidants, and French Argon oil, it gently detangles and protects human hair locks against UV and is formulated and tested to support the vitality and moisture levels of alternative human hair.
    • Application: Every 6-8 wears, apply a small amount to clean, damp hair after shampooing, focusing on mid-lengths to ends. Avoid conditioning on base materials or roots. This can loosen up the knots and cause unnecessary shedding. Rinse thoroughly in cool running water.
  • Argan Treatment Mist:
    • Argan Smooth Conditioner can be blended with Argon Treatment mist for a deep conditioning treatment. This deep penetrating Mist will be instantly absorbed into your hair, producing an incredible shine while adding elasticity and suppleness to dry, winter-stricken ends.
    • Application: Spray 2-3 pumps in your hands and evenly distribute throughout clean, towel-dried hair, Proceed to blow drying.
  • Deep Nourishment:
    • Pure Repair Restoring Balm has nourishing protein bonds to help fortify locks while helping to maintain a heathy moisture balance for alternative hair in winter and year-round.
    • Application: Distribute evenly to clean, damp hair, focusing on mid-lengths and ends. Cover with a plastic cap and allow to process for 5-20 minutes; apply low heat from a blow dryer for deep rejuvenation and repair. Recommended 2 to 3 times a to avoid over-saturating the hair.

.

.

  • Humidity Protection:
    • If you live somewhere with damp winters, apply Anti-Humidity Spray to shield the wig from winter moisture and to retain natural texture without frizz or flyaways.
    • Application: Apply a small amount throughout clean, towel-dried hair; blow dry section-by-section.
  • Heat Protection:
    • Prior to styling, use Heat Treat Thermal Spray to protect the hair from heat damage.
    • Application: Spray 1-2 pumps of Heat Treat Thermal Spray on each section of hair prior to applying your heat tool.
